Ahmed Aboul-Ella is a seasoned industry leader with over 23 years of experience in the semiconductor field. His expertise lies in building and managing engineering organizations with a focus on SERDES products development. As General Manager of Mixel-Egypt from 2011 to 2022, Ahmed was instrumental in the company's significant growth, leading teams in analog/mixed-signal design, digital design, layout, cad, and operations. He boasts a remarkable track record in delivering tens of successful IP releases across advanced process nodes for Tier-1 clients. Additionally, Ahmed's commitment to quality and process improvement is evidenced by his leadership in achieving both ISO 9001 and ISO 26262 certifications. He contributed to the development of multiple MIPI Standards through the MIPI Alliance.
Before his contribution at Mixel, Ahmed worked with ICPedia for Synopsys from 2008 to 2011 as the AMS Engineering Manager and then ASIC Engineering Manager. He played a foundational role in the company's establishment, temporarily leading operations, and driving the AMS and ASIC engineering teams to contribute to several SerDes products across various standards including HDMI, USB, PCIe, and DDR. Botros George is a seasoned Deep-Tech leader with over 23 years of experience driving analog-mixed-signal chips and products development from concept to production.
Throughout his career, George has worn many hats, excelling in analog-mixed-signal design, design teams leadership, and customer/supplier relationship management. George's technical leadership and strategic execution have resulted in several successful chips and SoCs powering many groundbreaking, diverse Deep-Tech products in the market today. These products span multiple applications like cutting-edge MEMS, MOEMS, and Photonics devices for sensing and timing markets, wireless power transfer solutions, and ultra-low power implantable biomedical devices.
Prior to starting InfiniLink, his expertise in navigating the intricacies of Deep-Tech product development was exemplified as Senior Director of Product Development at Si-Ware Systems building world’s first chip-scale Optical MEMs Spectrometer. In this role, George spearheaded diverse engineering teams through all stages of chip and product development. This encompassed defining, architecting, designing, and implementing systems and solutions across various domains (analog, digital, optics, firmware, software), as well as system verification, packaging, integration, validation, reliability qualification, and ultimately, production handoff.
George holds B.Sc. & M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University and an Executive MBA from AAST. He’s also an alumnus of Stanford's Advanced Project Management Program. His contributions to the field have been recognized with 5 granted US Patents.
Dr. Khalil is the Chief-Scientific-Officer at InfiniLink. He has over 40 years of experience in micro photonics systems, including integrated optoelectronics and optical MEMS technology. He obtained his PhD from INPG France in 1993.Since 2004, he is a full Professor of photonics in the Faculty of Eng., Ain Shams University. He is the inventor of about 20 granted patents in the US patent office and similar numbers in the Europe, China and Japan patent offices in addition to more than 20 patent applications. He is the author and co-author of more than 400 publications, in international journals and conferences, in addition to 5 book chapters and 1 eBook published by SPIE. He is also a member in the editorial board of the journal, “Light: Science and Applications - Nature Publishing Group NPG. He supervised more than 80 MSc and PhD theses in: Optics, Optoelectronics, Spectroscopy, Optical MEMS and integrated Optics.
Dr. Khalil was the CTO of the Optical MEMS Division in Si-Ware Systems from 2007 to 2020, leading the development of a unique FTIR MEMS spectrometer, that gained the Prism award in the Photonics West Conf. 2014 in SF USA. He also worked with MEMScAP company as the head of the optical MEMS design group where he led the design and characterization of a 2×2 switch and introduced a novel VOA (Variable Optical Attenuator) achieving the world record of minimum PDL reported for wide dynamic range.
Dr. Diaa Khalil is a holder of the Egyptian state incentive prize in engineering sciences in 1998, and the Egyptian State Appreciation Prize in engineering science in 2021 and Ain Shams Appreciation prize in 2022. He is a senior member in the OSA, the SPIE, the IEEE Photonic Society, and URSI. He was the Head of the ECE Dept., in the Engineering school at Ain Shams University and in 2017 He became the Vice dean of Research and Postgraduate and from 2019 to February 2021, the Acting dean of the School of Engineering. He was also the CEO of the Innovator Support Fund reporting to the ministry of Higher education in Egypt from April 2023 to July 2024.
Ramy Awad is a distinguished professional with over two decades of both academic and industrial experience in the fields of Analog and Mixed-Signal design. Throughout his illustrious career, he has successfully led to the tapeout of tens of chips. Between 2015 and 2022, Ramy made significant contributions at MediaTek in Irvine as Senior Manager of the switch PHY design team. His work primarily focused on high-speed wireline transceivers front ends, clocking, and data converters, catering to optical and high-performance switch applications. Ramy's expertise was recognized within the JESD standard committee, where he has been an active member of the 204D task group since 2020. Prior MediaTek, Ramy contributed to Broadcom Corp. in Irvine from 2008 to 2015 as a Staff-II Design Scientist developing PAM4 and Coherent Transceivers for Optical Applications.

Eslam ElFiky is a leading expert in Silicon Photonics, Optical Communications, and Digital Signal Processing with 13 years of distinguished experience. He has made significant contributions in the design and modeling of Silicon Photonics Transceivers. With five years dedicated to the design and characterization of silicon photonic devices and circuits, and four years in transceiver product development, ElFiky has been instrumental in creating photonic integrated circuits, including the DR4-400G TROSA, Integrated Coherent Receiver, and CWDM4-400G TOSA. His work led to the pioneering demonstration of a 400 Gb/s FR4 CWDM-TOSA over a 20 km reach.

His expertise also extends to DSP-based SerDes, handling system-level design and signoff, showcasing his profound understanding and innovative approach to digital signal processing in high-speed data transmission. Before his achievements at InfiniLink, Abdelghany contributed to the field of engineering through roles as a Research Assistant at several institutions. He spent a year at Blue Danube Systems in the USA, another year at MIT, USA, and three years at ITAC.

Hisham Haddara is the CEO and co-founder of Si-Ware Systems, a leading fabless semiconductor company in Egypt. Haddara also co-founded Pearl Semi and Fab-Minds, demonstrating his broad influence in the tech industry. Prior to founding Si-Ware Systems in December 2003, he was with MEMSCAP from May 2000 as EVP and President of MEMSCAP Egypt. Prior to MEMSCAP, Hisham was co-founder and first GM of ANACAD Egypt in 1994. By the end of 1994, ANACAD was acquired by Mentor Graphics Corporation (MGC) where he worked till May 2000 as GM of Mentor Graphics Egypt.
Hisham has been a professor of microelectronics at Ain-Shams University, Cairo till 2016. He has co-authored two books, several patents and more than 100 scientific publications in International Journals and Conferences. He received his Ph.D. degree in Microelectronics from the National Polytechnic Institute, Grenoble, France in 1988. His Ph.D. research work won the best Ph.D. thesis award for the years 1987-88, awarded by the French National Scientific Research Center (CNRS).
Hisham is the founding chairman of the GSA-Egypt chapter and board member of EITESAL, the biggest technology NGO in Egypt. He is also a board member of the IT Industry Development Agency, ITIDA.
Hisham serves as advisor to the Minister of Scientific Research on innovation and heads a team to develop a national innovation policy for Egypt. He has been an expert on innovation with the ESCWA UN organization and completed the MIT REAP program at the MIT Sloan school of management as part of a national team to accelerate the innovation and entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cairo.
Stefanos Sidiropoulos embarked on his academic journey at the University of Crete, Greece, where he completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science in 1991, followed by a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, California, in 1997. Between 1993 and 2001, he contributed to research and development as well as management across a spectrum of both established and emerging companies, including Rambus, MIPS, DEC, and 8x8 Inc. In 2001, Sidiropoulos leveraged his expertise to co-found Aeluros Inc., a company dedicated to developing CMOS ICs for the optical Ethernet market, serving as CEO until its acquisition by Netlogic Microsystems in 2007. He then led Netlogic's Physical Layer Products Group as VP/GM until Broadcom Corporation acquired it in 2011, followed by a tenure at Broadcom's Infrastructure Networking Group until 2013.
Sidiropoulos continued his entrepreneurial journey by co-founding Barefoot Networks Inc. in Palo Alto, CA, until Intel acquired it in 2014. His innovative spirit led him to co-found Nusemi in 2015, where he remained CEO until its acquisition by Cadence in 2018. At Cadence, he held the position of Sr. Group Director and Fellow until 2023, culminating in his latest venture, Cspeed, which he founded that year.
Stefanos has published more than 30 peer-reviewed technical papers and holds over 50 patents in areas ranging from mixed-signal circuit design to networking algorithms and memory systems. His current technical interests are in the design of hardware and software for communication systems.
David V. Plant (Fellow, IEEE) received the Ph.D. degree from Brown University, Providence, RI, USA, in 1989. He was a Research Engineer at the University of California at Los Angeles, Los Angeles, CA, USA, from 1989 to 1993, and has been a Professor at McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada, since 1993, where he holds a James McGill Professorship. He has published more than 400 journals and conference papers and has one licensed patent. He is a Fellow of OSA, Engineering Institute of Canada, and the Canadian Academy of Engineering. He currently holds a Killam Research Fellowship. He has received five teaching awards and numerous other awards, including the IEEE Photonics Society Distinguished Lectureship and the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society Microwave Prize.
C.K. Ken Yang is a professor and Chairman of electrical engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He has over 30 years of consulting, design, and research experience with various companies in the electronics industry. In 2010, he co-founded and held the position of vice president of product engineering at Pluribus Networks, Inc. an innovator in software and hardware network virtualization platforms for the cloud.
He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in electrical engineering in 1992 and his Ph.D. in 1998 from Stanford University under the supervision of Professor Mark Horowitz. Since then, he has been a professor at UCLA with over 100 journal and conference publications. He is an IEEE Fellow and was awarded the Northrop Grumman Excellence in Teaching Award, and IBM Faculty Development Fellow Award.
Ken-ichi Kitayama is a Research Fellow at Hamamatsu Photonics Central Research Laboratory, a professor emeritus of Osaka University, a project professor at Graduate School for the Creation of New Photonics Industries (GPI), and the R&D advisor of the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) since 2016. He also serves as the research supervisor of 40million USD CREST program, entitled “Next-Gen Optics and Photonics” funded by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST).
In 1976, he joined the NTT Electrical Communication Laboratory. In 1982-1983, he spent a year as a visiting research fellow at the University of California, Berkeley. In 1995, he joined the Communications Research Laboratory (currently NICT), Tokyo. He became a full professor at Osaka University in 1999.
He has authored and co-authored more than 300 journal papers and published a book, “Optical Code Division Multiple Access -A Practical Perspective”. He holds more than 30 patents, and he received the PhD degree from Osaka University in 1981.
