Stefanos Sidiropoulos embarked on his academic journey at the University of Crete, Greece, where he completed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science in 1991, followed by a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, California, in 1997. Between 1993 and 2001, he contributed to research and development as well as management across a spectrum of both established and emerging companies, including Rambus, MIPS, DEC, and 8x8 Inc. In 2001, Sidiropoulos leveraged his expertise to co-found Aeluros Inc., a company dedicated to developing CMOS ICs for the optical Ethernet market, serving as CEO until its acquisition by Netlogic Microsystems in 2007. He then led Netlogic's Physical Layer Products Group as VP/GM until Broadcom Corporation acquired it in 2011, followed by a tenure at Broadcom's Infrastructure Networking Group until 2013.
Sidiropoulos continued his entrepreneurial journey by co-founding Barefoot Networks Inc. in Palo Alto, CA, until Intel acquired it in 2014. His innovative spirit led him to co-found Nusemi in 2015, where he remained CEO until its acquisition by Cadence in 2018. At Cadence, he held the position of Sr. Group Director and Fellow until 2023, culminating in his latest venture, Cspeed, which he founded that year.
Stefanos has published more than 30 peer-reviewed technical papers and holds over 50 patents in areas ranging from mixed-signal circuit design to networking algorithms and memory systems. His current technical interests are in the design of hardware and software for communication systems.
