Salah Ibrahim is an esteemed professional with over 20 years of experience in optical and photonics research and development. Ibrahim's expertise and dedication to the field were further recognized during his role as a Senior Researcher at NTT Device Technology Labs in Japan, where he was honored twice with the prestigious technology award. His commitment to advancing optical technology extended to active engagement in R&D collaboration programs with world-class international partners, focusing on cutting-edge technologies such as optical switching.

As a senior member of the Optical Society of America (OSA), Salah Ibrahim has significantly contributed to the photonics community, serving as a committee member for the international conference in photonics switching and computing among other prestigious conferences. Salah holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tokyo, Japan, earned in 2008, a M.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cairo University in 2004, and a B.Sc. in the same field from Cairo University in 2000.
