Dr. Khalil is the Chief-Scientific-Officer at InfiniLink. He has over 40 years of experience in micro photonics systems, including integrated optoelectronics and optical MEMS technology. He obtained his PhD from INPG France in 1993.Since 2004, he is a full Professor of photonics in the Faculty of Eng., Ain Shams University. He is the inventor of about 20 granted patents in the US patent office and similar numbers in the Europe, China and Japan patent offices in addition to more than 20 patent applications. He is the author and co-author of more than 400 publications, in international journals and conferences, in addition to 5 book chapters and 1 eBook published by SPIE. He is also a member in the editorial board of the journal, “Light: Science and Applications - Nature Publishing Group NPG. He supervised more than 80 MSc and PhD theses in: Optics, Optoelectronics, Spectroscopy, Optical MEMS and integrated Optics.
Dr. Khalil was the CTO of the Optical MEMS Division in Si-Ware Systems from 2007 to 2020, leading the development of a unique FTIR MEMS spectrometer, that gained the Prism award in the Photonics West Conf. 2014 in SF USA. He also worked with MEMScAP company as the head of the optical MEMS design group where he led the design and characterization of a 2×2 switch and introduced a novel VOA (Variable Optical Attenuator) achieving the world record of minimum PDL reported for wide dynamic range.
Dr. Diaa Khalil is a holder of the Egyptian state incentive prize in engineering sciences in 1998, and the Egyptian State Appreciation Prize in engineering science in 2021 and Ain Shams Appreciation prize in 2022. He is a senior member in the OSA, the SPIE, the IEEE Photonic Society, and URSI. He was the Head of the ECE Dept., in the Engineering school at Ain Shams University and in 2017 He became the Vice dean of Research and Postgraduate and from 2019 to February 2021, the Acting dean of the School of Engineering. He was also the CEO of the Innovator Support Fund reporting to the ministry of Higher education in Egypt from April 2023 to July 2024.
Botros George is a seasoned Deep-Tech leader with over 23 years of experience driving analog-mixed-signal chips and products development from concept to production.
Throughout his career, George has worn many hats, excelling in analog-mixed-signal design, design teams leadership, and customer/supplier relationship management. George's technical leadership and strategic execution have resulted in several successful chips and SoCs powering many groundbreaking, diverse Deep-Tech products in the market today. These products span multiple applications like cutting-edge MEMS, MOEMS, and Photonics devices for sensing and timing markets, wireless power transfer solutions, and ultra-low power implantable biomedical devices.
Prior to starting InfiniLink, his expertise in navigating the intricacies of Deep-Tech product development was exemplified as Senior Director of Product Development at Si-Ware Systems building world’s first chip-scale Optical MEMs Spectrometer. In this role, George spearheaded diverse engineering teams through all stages of chip and product development. This encompassed defining, architecting, designing, and implementing systems and solutions across various domains (analog, digital, optics, firmware, software), as well as system verification, packaging, integration, validation, reliability qualification, and ultimately, production handoff.
George holds B.Sc. & M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from Ain Shams University and an Executive MBA from AAST. He’s also an alumnus of Stanford's Advanced Project Management Program. His contributions to the field have been recognized with 5 granted US Patents.
Ahmed Aboul-Ella is a seasoned industry leader with over 23 years of experience in the semiconductor field. His expertise lies in building and managing engineering organizations with a focus on SERDES products development. As General Manager of Mixel-Egypt from 2011 to 2022, Ahmed was instrumental in the company's significant growth, leading teams in analog/mixed-signal design, digital design, layout, cad, and operations. He boasts a remarkable track record in delivering tens of successful IP releases across advanced process nodes for Tier-1 clients. Additionally, Ahmed's commitment to quality and process improvement is evidenced by his leadership in achieving both ISO 9001 and ISO 26262 certifications. He contributed to the development of multiple MIPI Standards through the MIPI Alliance.
Before his contribution at Mixel, Ahmed worked with ICPedia for Synopsys from 2008 to 2011 as the AMS Engineering Manager and then ASIC Engineering Manager. He played a foundational role in the company's establishment, temporarily leading operations, and driving the AMS and ASIC engineering teams to contribute to several SerDes products across various standards including HDMI, USB, PCIe, and DDR. Ahmed holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Ain Shams University, attained in 2000.
